Ian Morrison is a professional photographer specialising in dogs. He grew up on the Surrey Hampshire border surrounded by fantastic dogs, and has always loved them.
Later he studied photography and journalism at Farnborough College of Technology. Making photographs, both digitally and on film, remains Ian's key interest. A fundamental part of this is his fascination with lighting, and the ways it can be used to bring life to otherwise flat images. He has taken photos from a very young age, but dogs are the subject he returns to again and again.
Partly, that is because they are all so different - big, small, soft, wiry, their variety is unmatched in the animal kingdom. Furthermore, there's a reason dogs are humanity's best friend: it is because they are so expressive. That intrigues Ian. He believes it is why they've survived so successfully - by expressing their love and loyalty. As well as by helping us go to about our business!
Ian works mostly in London and around Surrey, but isn't afraid of traveling if the job sounds good or if the subject is amazing. You can get in touch by phone or email, so please do get in touch if you're interested some top quality canine photography.
He photographs hundreds of pet dogs every year. One of his other passions is working dogs. The bond between human and dog at work holds a special interest for him, and he's travelled far and wide to pursue it. He carried out photoshoots with vets in Dubai and with London's Metropolitan Police dog section. He shot both the English National and the International Sheep Dog Championships in 2013, as well as a range of working trials around the world.
